CVE-2024-52303
CVE-2024-52303: Memory Leak in aiohttp. A memory leak vulnerability exists in aiohttp, an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for Python's asyncio. Specifically, versions 3.10.6 through 3.10.10 are affected. When a request generates a MatchInfoError, a unique entry is added to the cache, leading to memory exhaustion. Although the SVRS score is 30, indicating a moderate risk, this issue can allow an attacker to overwhelm a server by sending numerous requests that trigger MatchInfoErrors, potentially causing a denial-of-service (DoS). Users of aiohttp.web middlewares should upgrade to version 3.10.11 to mitigate this vulnerability. Failure to patch could lead to server instability and performance degradation under sustained attack.
