The company’s sector aligns with the typical targets of the Chaos group, which has shown a pattern of attacking organizations in manufacturing, technology, and business services.

SOCRadar’s initial analysis of stealer-log telemetry found a limited correlation directly attributable to Grand Isle Shipyard’s corporate domain. The observed activity was linked to a third-party business directory (zoominfo.com), not the company’s owned infrastructure. The 25 records in the sample targeted customer-facing login portals of this directory using external and consumer email accounts. This suggests a risk of customer account take-over on the third-party service rather than direct credential exposure for Grand Isle Shipyard. The article emphasizes that this mismatch means the findings do not confirm or deny the use of compromised credentials as an initial access vector for Grand Isle Shipyard itself and advises CTI teams to monitor the company’s actual corporate domains.
